Call for Abstracts 2019
We are pleased to invite participants to submit abstracts for ten minute oral presentations for two sessions to be delivered at CAHD’s 2019 National Meeting, on June 7, 2019 in Toronto. The sessions are: Learning from Each Other – Evidence, Innovation and Best Practices. The presentation must address issues of interest to hospital dentists and may include:
- innovation and best practices in clinical care in areas such as oncology; special needs and medically complex patients; pain management; care for frail elderly with dementia
- initiatives that address health care quality – for example, patient engagement in education and research; improved patient, family and caregiver experience; design and implementation of quality standards or projects; use of data for audit and feedback or to inform QI projects; interprofessional approaches to care; learning from adverse events
- use of digital health solutions to enable, deliver and improve access to care
Abstracts will be accepted until March 15, 2019.
Abstract selected for presentation will be announced April 5, 2019.
National Meeting: June 7, 2019.
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
Maximum 250 words, in a structured format. Please include the following information:
Background/Context – Provide a brief description of the background/issue
Objectives – What are your aims? Please describe questions addressed, challenges faced or improvement goals
Description – Briefly describe the program design, methods or change ideas and how they have been implemented
Impact/ Results – Summarize key outcomes and/or results and describe the extent to which the initiative will/has demonstrated an impact on health outcomes or health care system performance
Conclusions/Spread – What were the lessons learned? Have results been replicated outside its original setting? Has the evaluation of the initiative produced any evidence and publication?
To be included in the final meeting program, all abstract presenters must register prior to April 15, 2019. Please note, in order for the meeting to be financially viable, we cannot waive registration fees for abstract presenters. Following registration, you will receive an email confirmation with further details related to your presentation. There is a limit of two presenters for each abstract presented at the 2019 National Meeting.
