Annual Meeting Conference Speaker – Dr. Chehade

Dr. Antoine Chehade

Abstract

Providing oral health care to medically compromised patients in a hospital setting can present significant risks and may require very particular expertise and mobilization of substantial resources to be accomplished in relative safety.   Fortunately, the majority of patients with severe medical conditions seeking urgent dental care can often be managed with appropriate history taking, knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacology and not uncommonly interdisciplinary medical specialty consultation.  This presentation will review a series of medical conditions and clinical scenarios that present specific challenges in the hospital and ambulatory environment.
