Why was CAHD created?
Dentists working in hospitals function in complex, dynamic, data driven and changing environments. The demands on our health care systems are enormously challenging and, in hospitals, departments of dentistry do not have the profile that is enjoyed by many of the larger medical and surgical services. Successful hospital dental departments have kept up with the rapid pace of change, have been innovative and have focused on their strategic fit within the organization, while meeting the needs of our complex patients.
